HYPNOSIS AND DEPTH PSYCHOLOGY
The field of psychotherapy has been dominated over the years by some very limiting philosophical models and ineffective treatment modalities, for which Alchemical Hypnotherapy offers some uniquely powerful alternatives:
So-called “mental health” has been defined by a medical treatment model which, in the tradition of Western allopathic medicine, has typically addressed symptoms rather than the true causes of the client’s emotional pain.
There has been a trend toward attributing emotional suffering, behavior problems and addictions to an underlying physiological disorder, e.g. a “chemical imbalance”, and to rely heavily on psychotropic medications as the primary modality of treatment.
Another predominant model in mainstream psychotherapy is “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy” (CBT) which addresses thought patterns with the concept that it is our faulty thinking that leads to emotional problems. While this is undoubtedly true up to a point, it fails to address the many different factors which contribute to the creation of these negative thought patterns.

As a therapist with over 30 years of experience, I have long recognized the relationship between unhealed traumas and either acute or chronic stress on both physical and emotional well-being.
The field of psychology was founded on the recognition of this relationship and the importance of discovering the root causes of symptoms.
Although Freud used hypnosis, he abandoned it later in his career. As a result, the practice of psychoanalysis lacked clear protocols for how original traumas could be healed. There was often the misconception that all someone had to do was to recall a memory in order for it to be healed. This is clearly not sufficient.
That is why traditional depth psychotherapy tended to drag on for years, relying on the notion that insight was all that was required for healing and that a patient could arrive at that through free association. There was little direction provided by the therapist and minimal interaction. In summary, original depth psychology was on target as far as recognizing the importance of unhealed trauma but lacked the techniques to effectively heal it.
Fast forward nearly a century. Enter Alchemical Hypnosis. When I discovered the techniques of AH in the 1990s, I recognized that here was an approach that could actually transform people’s memories of trauma and was effective, practical, and brief.
In the tradition of depth psychology, AH addresses the original experiential causes of psychological and physical symptoms but also provides profoundly powerful techniques to heal these causes.

AH not only focuses on emotional healing but also empowers people to connect with their own inner wisdom and spiritual resources. In so doing, it helps people to discover their true talents and strengths, their own true Self.
The processes used in AH include helping clients to uncover and release old traumas, to rescue and re-parent our inner child self, and to complete unfinished business from past relationships. We are then able to genuinely forgive ourselves and others.
AH also recognizes the fact that our personality is comprised of many parts and that inner conflict between these parts often leads to feeling stuck in life or to self-sabotage. In working with and bringing these parts into harmony, we are freed and empowered to move toward our goals. In addition AH understands that we are eternal beings who have had many prior incarnations. Often our current experience is unconsciously being affected by past life traumas or experiences.
Through past life hypnotherapy these experiences can be cleared and released. AH helps to connect the individual with the vast realm of the spirit and the limitless resources therein for powerful healing and personal transformation.
Thus, as a professional psychotherapist, I find Alchemical Hypnotherapy to be a breakthrough approach which combines the wisdom of Depth Psychology with practical and effective techniques aimed at achieving results without the need for years of therapy.
Often incredible results can be achieved in just a few sessions. These techniques have transformed my work as a psychotherapist and I am gratified to see the benefits it has brought to so many who have sought my assistance.
