HOW I SOLVED MY HEARING LOSS WITH HYPNOSIS
David Quigley restored his hearing, despite the odds and the "facts" - with the help of his inner healer.
Recently I met a dear friend from many years ago and in the midst of our conversation, she suddenly looked at me in shock and blurted out, “David! You can HEAR me!” At first I was puzzled. Then it all came back in a flood of memories.
From age 22 to age 51, I suffered from a hearing impairment. Every other sentence from my mouth used to be, “What did you say?” I avoided noisy restaurants and family dinners. The rumble of all those conversations was completely unintelligible to me. It was so isolated; like watching the fun and laughter from a long way off. Then at age 51 during a two-week period, I received and followed my inner healer’s advice and performed a few simple exercises - and my hearing has been normal ever since. Here's how it happened:
First, my inner healer had me designate a one half hour interval at night in bed before going to sleep. I was to go to bed still fresh so I could focus. Then I put on my favorite music, various pieces that were richly orchestrated. Then I was instructed to turn the volume way down to a barely audible level. This was in sharp contrast to my usual habit of turning the volume up for my ears. Instead, I was told to listen very carefully to a volume so soft that the sound of a passing car outside could be heard over it.
Then my inner healer placed her delicate spirit fingers inside my ears. After checking the outer and middle ears where all was well, she discovered the problem in my inner ear.
The vibrations of sound are translated into electrical impulses for the brain, and thus “heard”, in a unique organ called the cochlea. This organ is shaped like a spiral snail shell. The fluid within this organ moves in vibration with sounds that reach the inner ear through the bones of the middle ear. Here we noticed that the cilia, tiny hairs that line the inside of this organ, were damaged. Many hairs appeared to be broken or stunted and the delicate nerve connections within the many hairs were also damaged. While I recall having poor hearing as a child, I also remembered the years of loud rock concerts, and the months in which I worked in a noisy factory without ear protection. Yes, these delicate instruments called cilia had paid the price of my carelessness.
Every night I spent some time apologizing to my inner ear and promising to keep it safe from future noise. Then I would feel the touch of my inner healer encouraging these hairs to grow back and become alive with sensitivity as I listened to the soft music. There was a very faint tingling feeling in the area of my ear. I visualized these hairs growing like the grasses in a shallow tidal estuary, cleansed and growing under the nourishing pulse of the waves moving overhead.
I was curious but not particularly hopeful since all the literature stated that lost hearing simply could not be healed according to the experts. Imagine the surprise when during my night time practice a few days later, I was clearly hearing every subtle instrument at this low volume. Next, my inner healer suggested turning the volume down even further. Now the music was so soft that the sounds of cars and conversation from the neighborhood drowned out the sound of the music completely. I started listening at 4:00 AM so I could hear these beautiful tones in peace, and at even lower volumes, without the sounds of traffic. I continued to listen, as my inner healer commanded the sea grasses in my inner ears to keep growing.
Within two weeks my hearing seemed completely normal.
Many years of hearing loss had led to so many awkward and embarrassing moments, so I simply forgot that there ever was such a problem. Instead of announcing my small miracle, I simply swept it under the rug. Over ten years later, it took my old friend to remind me of that miracle. Then she said, “Tell people how to restore their mild to moderate hearing loss!!”
