Researchers are finding that covid virus is a much stranger animal than the seasonal flu.
Yes the shape and function and especially the vectors and strength of transmission of this virus resemble the flu. That's scary. But the symptoms of abnormal blood clotting described in the article below are a new and dangerous wrinkle in the equation of this virus.
I'm surprised there is no mention of the hemoglobin breakdown caused by the virus in lung tissue. According to NYC doctors this is a frequent cause of low oxygenation hypoxia unrelated to overt damage of the lung system caused by the virus.
According to most theories, this destruction of hemoglobin not only explains the low rate of oxygen absorption. It is also marked by a radical increase in loose iron in the blood and damaged cells. This may even help explain the cytokine storm, an immune system overreaction that occurs at extremely high altitude and in dying covid patients as a result of low oxygenation.
My theory is that this debris from destroyed red blood cells would form clots and clog the spleen and damage the liver, kidneys, and heart as these broken pieces accumulated. It is established that the body will be trying to cover these dangerous broken pieces of blood cells with platelets to neutralize them. Platelets are sticky and cause these broken pieces to collect as...clots. This is my logic in following the hemoglobin/ blood cell destruction to its eventual...its final...conclusion: Heart attack, stroke, kidney failure. Now confirmed by researchers who apparently know nothing of the hemoglobin connection!
These experts see the damage to kidneys and heart as possibly the result of the virus specifically targeting these organs. That's not too far fetched. The linings of these blood filled organs do have ace-2 receptors(ACE-2 is the host cell receptor responsible for mediating infection by SARS-COV). But...not only is it unlike coronavirus to attack these tissues, the high pressure and rapid flow of blood in these organs is a very different environment than the air filled sacs and branches of the lungs in which a coronavirus can literally hang on for a while as it burrows into the cell. My Research so far indicates It's much more likely that the organ damage is caused by the shredding and clogging of larger veins by these broken red blood cells and sticky blood clots.
The challenge for Mr. Medical Hypnotist is this: What is the set of hypnotic suggestions and stories that can stop the damage to red blood cells caused by the virus? I'm looking for ideas from the hypnosis community.
My thinking is that the best way is to picture the protein wheel that holds the iron molecule that is "hemoglobin" becoming tighter and stronger. A similar defense to malaria. (Sickle cell anemia carriers have tougher red blood cells to fight malaria.) Maybe strengthen the cell wall surrounding and shielding those iron ions which must stand out from the red blood cell in order to gather oxygen. And seal all of the spokes of the wheel inside the cell wall where they are polished smoothly. (Enzymes from the virus grab loose peptide hooks from these spokes to dismantle the cell wall and steal the heme proteins. That's the theory anyway)
The problem is that this involves imagery unfamiliar to the average hypnosis subject...unless you work as a molecular biologist or a wheelwright. Which would be a perfect metaphor...but how many wheelwrights do you know? A More familiar image? A circle of Rockettes tightening their grip on the glowing red ball in their center? ( iron ions are the red in blood red!)
In contrast, the images of cleaning and squeezing a sponge for ARDS and climbing a mountain for hypoxia used in my other scripts, are powerful metaphors the subconscious mind readily grasps. Just like gluing together broken tendons with glue, to heal an injury, these metaphors work with shocking regularity. Because of their familiarity. But fixing microscopic wheels? Millions of them? I'm open to a better image. Anyone?
I'm taking bets! How long will it take the researchers to put two and two together? How long will it take for someone to open a spleen? And see the culprits inside. And finally understand what we are seeing?
