Healing a Crippled Leg With Hypnosis in One Hour
In the summer of 1983, Wes Carpenter was piloting a small plane in California central valley. He lost control of the plane on it's descent, and was badly mangled in a devastating crash. Waking up in an ambulance, Wes had no recollection of the crash, which injured his back, his arm, and broke off his right leg at the knee, severing the kneecap and utterly destroying much of his bone structure. After several complex surgeries, and many months of recovery, Wes was able to walk again. But he remained haunted for 15 years by a rippled, crooked gait in his right leg. Due to metal implants in his leg and residual scar tissue he was unable to bend his leg beyond about 40 degrees, so standing up was awkward and squatting impossible. he also wrestled with chronic pain in his leg and hip virtually every night. his right foot was permanently twisted outward, so he walked with an awkward, shuffling gait.
All of this changed in one hour in August of 1997. David Quigley was teaching the Somatic Healing class in Marin County. This specialty area of Alchemical Hypnotherapy was fairly new at the time. And frankly, neither David nor Wes had much faith that a miracle could be performed on this chronic 15-year old injury. They were nevertheless willing to apply the techniques, to see what might happen. (so I guess this work isn't "faith healing")
Wes lay down on a massage table in front of the class. David Quigley began the process with a simple trance induction, followed by giving Wes the instructions that he would return to the scene of the accident, and re-live every detail of the scene in very slow motion and without pain, Wes's body twisted and turned in a bizarre fashion upon the massage table, as he recalled for the first time every detail of the accident and re-lived it slowly. He saw the ground coming up, saw and felt his body hitting the dashboard, and felt his body thrown from the plane with his knee catching on the front panel and breaking off at the ball. His body was duplicating these motions very slowly. Although he wasn't saying anything to describe the experience, the group watched entranced as he went through these movements.
After the accident had been re-lived I suggested that an Inner healer would appear and perform a spiritual surgery upon his leg. The Inner Healer appeared to Wes as an angelic being whose hands reached into Wes's leg, gently and painlessly. His leg continued to vibrate and twitch as the hands of his inner healer moved gently and painlessly throughout his knee and leg. Wes could feel those hands re-aligning bones, tendons, and muscles. David Quigley even suggested at one point that this inner healer could replace the metal plates in his leg (which had been a source of considerable pain) with something else. It was clear to us observers that Wes's leg was moving in strange ways as the hands of his inner healer moved them. Meanwhile, his healer had established exit points in his body through which the energy of his chronic pain was being slowly drained from his leg.
After about an hour the inner healer signaled to Wes (and to us) that the "operation" was complete by withdrawing his hands from Wes's body. The first thing we noticed was that Wes's right foot, which had pointed diagonally outward for 15 years was pointing straight up. Afterwards, Wes astonished everyone in the room, including himself, by walking normally, doing a deep knee bend, and squatting all the way onto his haunches and straightening up effortlessly for the first time in 15 years.
